Michael Vick: Construction Worker?

That shed you wanted to build in the backyard? Just call up Michael Vick! No, not now mind you, but when he gets out of prison. That’s his plan: to work “40 hours a week in construction” as a way to start a new life.

Personally, I don’t understand this. I still think some NFL team would snap Vick up. He shined as a quarterback, and it’s not like being in the NFL was what caused him to get into dog fighting. So wouldn’t he at least try to see if some teams want him?

Who knows. He might take a year off and seriously do construction (which I don’t believe for a minute) and he might just change his mind at some point too. Or, this could all be a bunch of bunk designed to get us to talk about him and his chances of getting a starting quarterback job again.

What do you think?

  1. I think a franchise would have to have a death wish to pick up Mike Vick. He is a PR nightmare. PETA would go crazy, he is a liability.

He is a good quarterback, but he is also a monster.

Even if you could win with him, what is the cost? The NFL needs to clean up its image before it gets worse. They can’t afford a boycott in this economy.

  2. Sarah,

I agree with you. Absolutely. It’s just that I still think some team will be desperate enough to pick him up. I don’t necessarily think it’s right, but I think it could happen.
