Michael Vick is one of the heavyweights in dog fighting

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.

Michael Vick jumping over the doggie doo doo and landing in a bigger mess!

Uh oh, does not look good for the Vick.

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick was at a dog fight in 2000 and is “one of the heavyweights” in the sport, ESPN reported.

The network Sunday cited a police informant whom a dog-fighting investigator called “extremely reliable.”

“That’s who bets a large dollar,” the informant said on the show “Outside the Lines.” “And they have the money to bet large money. As I’m talking about large money, 30 to 40 thousand, even higher. He’s one of the heavyweights.”

When asked how he knows Vick bets that amount, the informant said, “because I’ve seen it.” source

The informant has provided information in the past that has led to several arrests.

Surry County (Va.) Commonwealth attorney Gerald Poindexter said Friday he is confident charges will be brought in the investigation of a possible dog-fighting operation at a house then owned by Vick. Dog fighting is a felony in Virginia.

Not only may Vick go to jail, but look what happens to the dogs.

Historically, dogs seized and found to have been part of a dog fighting operation are euthanized because their level of aggression makes them unfit pets and neighbors, according to John Goodwin, a spokesman for the Humane Society of the United States.

“It’s simply not fair to someone who has a black lab or a Yorkie to have a fighting dog next door, because if that dog gets loose, he’s going to … kill that person’s pet,” Goodwin said, making it clear he was speaking in generic terms only. source

Michael Vick has been nothing but bad news for quite a while. You get the feeling that at some point the Falcons and new coach Bobby Petrino will just have to cut him loose.

Sadly some other team will probably give him a chance and give him more millions. Talent seems to win out over character in the NFL.

NFL Football Fan Question Would you take Vick on your team?

As always, any NFL Football related comments are welcome.

This man is nothing but a punk a** THUG!!!!
He didn’t even need the money ,so obviously he is just a sick and disgusting individual. I think when he is found guilty (IF that even happens) He should be put in a cage with about 5 of those dogs that he trained and put raw meat in his pockets.Let him feel what those helpless animals felt.Dogs are like children, in that they look to the us to take care of them not torture and kill them. People like “sick vick” are the reason PIT BULLS get a bad rap!A dog is what you make it. As a human if you were beat and tortured eventually YOU would lash out too!

Vick the P****’s decision making off the field is almost as bad as his decision making on the field. All that raw talent is wasted in such a waste of human life. He’s a bum and belongs in a cell with Bubba.

This entire dog fight thing sickens me. I think about the many ignorant fools that attend these fights, the dogs that are tortured and killed everyday. I have had 3 rescue dogs in my life. My opinion… get rid of Vick (and his thug friends) like he has destroyed the lives of many dogs. Dogs are better than Vick and his thugs any day.

Considering how bad the falcons were last year, any dog could be their quarterback.

Tell me what the media coverage of Chris Benoit has revolved around. It has revolved around a tragic family man who was pulled into a life of consistent drugs and steroid use that ravaged his body, threw him into depression and caused him to commit such a heinous crime. Imagine if Michael Vick killed his wife and children… wait a minute… you see what they are doing to him about ALLEGEDLY killing dogs. I don’t even want to know what they would do about the PROVEN killing of a person…
Speaking of the killing of a person… What about Danny Heatley killing his teammate while driving at extremely reckless speeds? Heatley did not go to jail, nor did he get suspended (correct me if I am wrong on this), and nor did he get any really negative feedback from fans/media. Danny Heatley, at the time a member of the Atlanta Thrashers, was CONVICTED of vehicular homicide in the death of his teammate Dan Snyder while driving too fast here in Atlanta.
What about the Patrick Kearney rape case. That happened in his house nonetheless and while he was present. When is he going to be suspended? Is alleged dog fighting more heinous or egregious than PROVEN rape? I’m patiently waiting on the NFL to say something.
Also Jonathan Babineaux, another Falcon player who is black by the way, killed his dog with a hammer. Let me repeat that… KILLED HIS DOG WITH A HAMMER. No one said anything, PETA or anyone else. Ahem… where was PETA? Oh… my bad, he has no money. I’m still waiting on the NFL… he’s at training camp as we speak.

Michael Vick is a discusting individual. If he is proven not guilty, there are going to be thousands of more dogs that are raised to fight, and to be killed when they lose. He says he had “no idea” that his house was being used for dog fighting. I say bull. How could he not know? After all it is his house, wheather he lived in it or not, you know what goes on in your house. If you walk in and see blood staind carpets, would you just shake it off? No normal person who didn’t know what was going on in that house would. So he obviously was involved. He’s a lowlife. Abusing/killing animal is some sick game to him. Im going to college to become a vetrinarian, so this really upsets me. He should get locked up for a very long time for the crime he has commited.

  1. [...] Yes, bigger than Michael Vick. That’s right, I said it. You’re a bigger jerk than the guy who helped fund the raising of innocent puppies to fight and kill one another. That’s how much I dislike you right [...]
