When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. But when life gives you dog fighting, make wine.
Remember all those dogs that were rescued from Michael Vick’s “Bad Newz Kennels” a while back? Well one of the founders of the sanctuary that took them in, Cyrus Mejia, has been painting portraits of the dogs since they arrived. He’s making them look like regular dogs, and not like mean old dog fighting poochies.
Take those portraits, and show them to Matt Hahn, who combines wine and philanthropy, and PRESTO – you’ve got a new brand of wine that will help benefit the sanctuary where all the poochies live (in addition to showing some positive light on the dogs as well.)
“The Vicktory Dogs Wine Collection (get it? “Vick” tory?) features colorful portraits of 22 dogs confiscated from Vick’s Bad Newz Kennels that now live at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in southern Utah.” ~source
The set includes 22 bottles and goes for $672, ten percent of which goes to the Best Friends sanctuary.
