Michelle Obama Handles Colbert’s Questions

Michelle Obama appeared on The Colbert Report last night. She more than held her own, and while they didn’t get into the politics of her husband’s campaign, I think Michelle Obama has once again proven that she really is a tremendous asset to the campaign.

My favorite part? Colbert’s immediate accusation of elitism, and Michelle’s comfortable response:

Colbert: Tell me about your elite upbringing on the South Side of Chicago. How many silver spoons in your mouth?
Obama: We had four spoons. And then my father got a raise at the plant, and we had five spoons.

She’s smooth, to say the least.
