I agree, Vista "seems" to be but if you are a gamer, consider the upgrade costs to a PC and then look at a dedicated game player like Playstation 3, Nintendo or whatever else you have an interest in. The fact is it can cost you as much for a high end graphics board as it would for a dedicated game player. The added cost for upgrading ram, hard drive and other hardware to run DX10 with Vista drives the cost of doing it, over the top and out of the area of common sense. Apparently Vista has already been hacked and you can get DX10 to run on XP. I'm still trying to figure out why Vista still has no "extras" that MS was talking about before it was made available. I still have no idea what "extras" they were talking about and it's near on a year since they started retailing it. Anyone got any answers about the "extras" they were talking about ? MS ?

[...] Vista seems to be a great upgrade for gamers. This week IGN had a special (Windows Vista Journal) about what Vista means for hardcore gamers; part 1 and part 2. After that Microsoft posted a free trial of Microsoft Flight Simulator X, this long-awaited version of Flight Simulator is fully optimized for Windows Vista.More details about Vista and Gaming can be found on gamespot.
