Microsoft is Patching Windows XP Adobe Exploit, for now

October 28, 2007 by Milo Riano

It is good that Microsoft is still supporting Windows XP otherwise a recent exploit for Windows XP (including Server 2003) and Internet Explorer 7 which allows the spread of malware via attack vectors using Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat would not be solved.

Microsoft says this cannot be fixed by a third party tool since the vulnerability has to be made in the ShellExecute function.

The patch is expected to be released on November 13 and make sure you get this update if you are still using Windows XP.
