For the second time in three months, and in response to a slow reponse, a flaw in a Microsoft program has prompted non-Microsoft programmers to release a patch.
“Microsoft doesn’t endorse such third-party fixes, warning it can’t vouch for whether they will work smoothly with Microsoft products and other applications. But those providing them argue they have a responsibility to protect users from attacks.”
Microsoft plans to have a patch released for this most recent flaw, which is in Internet Explorer, in time for the April scheduled rollout on April 11.
