Microsoft tries to resolve Comcast email problem

Some users of Hotmail and MSN email services are not receiving mail sent from Comcast accounts and some other ISPs, Microsoft said on Friday.

The problem seems to be the Sober Internet worm. Brooke Richardson, a group product manager with Microsoft’s MSN online division, attributed the glitch to an increase in email volumes due to the worm. “Our hope is that things get better in the coming day or days, but we don’t have exact details.”

Microsoft is working with Comcast to resolve the issue.
