Mike Williams – Detroit Lions

Mike WilliamsThe continuing saga of Mike Williams. When we last left Mike, he was getting fined at a mad pace, he was getting snippy with the media, and not catching a lot of anything, but flak from the coaches.

The Detroit Free Press reports today that Mike Williams was getting all the practice reps, while Charles Rogers was just sitting on the sidelines. Even Mike admitted that it did not mean anything.

“Everybody talks about the (receiver) depth chart. I think our depth chart is one person deep, and that’s Roy (Williams). He’s the only guy that has solidified his spot and everything else is wide open.” source

At 6′4″ tall and 229 pounds, Mike is a tall receiver with great hands. His speed can be suspect, but not bad.

Herman MooreAfter years of this writer watching a fantastic Herman Moore be a possession and touchdown on the fade route receiver, it seemed like Herman Moore all over again. The difference at this point is all attitudes.

Stat of the Day Herman Moore broke the NFL record with 123 catches in one season.

#88 Mike Williams had 29 catches last year for 350 yards. Should he get his act together, and let’s hope he does, then Coach Mike Martz will certainly add to those totals.

Fan Question Is Mike a bad boy or just a young kid too used to being a star?
