Milton Bradley, an outfielder who the Chicago Cubs signed to a three-year, $30 million deal this past offseason, has received a two-game suspension for bumping an umpire in a recent game. However, Bradley will still be eligible to play while he appeals the decision by Major League Baseball.

Bradley’s season has started out about as slowly as possible. In 18 at-bats, he has only one hit for a batting average of .056. To add injury to insult, Bradley is now slowed by a groin injury on his right side.
The incident in which Bradley bumped the ump occurred after he struck out looking with the bases loaded. Larry Vanover was the umpire who called the strike, which on replays looked extremely iffy.
The 31-year-old native of California had the best season of his career last year with the Texas Rangers. In 126 games, he hit 22 homers, knocked in 77 RBIs and scored 78 runs, while posting a batting average of .321 and an on-base percentage of .436.
