Mirror’s Edge
There was a new game featured at E3 (which seems to be a reoccurring theme in this blog this week) called Mirror’s Edge and it has to be the strangest basis for a game ever. But that’s not particularly a bad thing!
Basically, you’re a message carrier who is carrying secret messages and running away corrupted government officials who are trying to get all into your communications business. Yep, that’s right… you carry messages from one messenger to another. I know, sounds boring right? But it’s not. It’s been described as a first person version of Assassin’s Creed, what with the jumping off walls, making huge leaps, sliding down poles and bounding from building to building.
The way the game was designed makes you feel like you are really the one doing the jumping and the falling and the running. I mean, I guess that’s what first person games are all about, but this game just seems more realistic. Check it out:
Can’t WAIT to play this game.

This game does look good, but I have a feeling it may not play as smoothly as the video suggests. Personally, I’ve found platform jumping a frustrating task in FPS’s.
I’m hoping since this is a game that is all about jumping, they’re going to make it nice and smooth and non-frustrating for us. I DOUBT it though!
