Two venture capital deal in one week – it’s raining cash!

Montreal-based Mobivox raised $11-million from IDG Ventures, Brightspark Ventures of Toronto and Skypoint Capital Corp. Meanwhile, Montreal-based Bluestreak Technology, Inc., the developer of the MachBlue™ platform for mobile phones and digital television, has raised US$20 million dollars from France’s Iris Capital (a new investor that led the round), Solidarity Fund QFL, BDC Venture Capital and First Capital Group and Tomorrow Group.

Mobivox offers a service to make free or inexpensive phone calls around the world (definitely worth trying) while Bluestreak offers the MachBlue platform for iTV and mobile phones that gives wireless comapnies and cablecos the ability to offer multi-media services.

For more thoughts on both companies, check out Montreal Tech Watch. Blognation has a long post about Mobivox following an interview with CEO Stephane Marceau.
