More Boeings to Azerbaijan Airlines
National airline of Azerbaijan and Boeing announced for new aircrafts to be delivered to Azerbaijan Airlines.
Deal includes two 737-900 next generation aircraft and two 767-300ER aircrafts. Azerbaijan Airlines has a total of eight Boeing airplanes on order: four 737-900ERs, two 787-8s and two 767-300ERs.
This news shows us clearly that former Soviet countries are renewing their fleet with hard hand. According to some sources from Russian plane industry, old Tupolev’s are in the “black list” in most airlines because of fuel prices. Today’s modern aircrafts like Boeing and Airbus are doing, are more fuel efficiency than Russian planes.
This is of course good news to Boeing and also to other manufacturers if you think of it as a business opportunity. Former socialist countries are coming closer and closer to western world and they have a lot of will to change their airlines too.
