More “Independence Day” Movies Coming?

Director, Roland Emmerich, is considering releasing two more movies to follow-up the storyline in Independence Day.  My first thought was “why?” but then I thought of the fact that this man also put out 2012 and The Day After Tomorrow (a damn fine movie if you ask independence day posterme) so it would appear the man just loves disaster movies.

After all these years, I’m not sure why this old movie needs to be resurrected.  Have we completely run out of things to make movies about because, if that is the case, maybe we should slow down the production.

Emmerich also said that he won’t make any more movies in the franchise unless Will Smith and Bill Pullman are on board.  In that case, maybe he should make more films so that the careers of Smith and Pullman can get back on track (with a decent script, of course).

Honestly, I enjoyed Independence Day but I don’t need to see any more of it.  After all, if the world continues to be attacked on the fourth of July and we are still unprepared, we probably deserve to get overtaken by aliens.
