More “National Lampoon’s Vacations” Coming

I always like the National Lampoon’s Vacation movies, the Christmas one is my favorite holiday movie, but I think they should have stopped before Vegas Vacation. Us Magazine is reporting that we haven’t seen the last of the Griswolds.

Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo will be reprising their roles as Clark and Ellen Griswold but it won’t be on the big screen. Instead, they will be part of a new ad campaign to be launched during the next Superbowl on February, 7 2010. The commercial will be a throwback to the original 1983 movie and will promote HomeAway vacation rentals (I’ve used that service with great results, by the way!).
“To this day, people ask me, ‘When is the next Vacation movie?” says Chase. “So I’m sure everyone will get a kick out of seeing the Griswolds and their misadventures once again.”
“Clark and Ellen have one of the most enduring marriages ever to come out of Hollywood. I am thrilled that HomeAway is reuniting Chevy and me” added D’Angelo.
I enjoy a good Superbowl commercial so I’m looking forward to this. I’m glad there aren’t any announcements about an upcoming movie, though!
