More tiny gaming goodness…
This is getting beyond a joke:

Having spent the last three hours refreshing what will hereafter be referred to as “The Digg” (772 Diggs so far!), I’ve been checking out some of the comments…
Some people are concerned about the fact that the Digg link didn’t actually follow on to my post… Well firstly let me say that I’m not mad at all… I didn’t expect Game Set Watch’s article to become so popular, and if I get some bonus traffic on the back of that then that’s fine… It’s better than no extra traffic!

One comment that I read really stuck out though… Digg user 404notfound said this:
There used to be a website, now defunct, called TinyWindowsGames. They had a bunch of old arcade games shrunk down, though none except one of this size. The one that was this small was a version of Space Invaders that was a system tray icon. You could let it sit there and just reach for the arrow keys whenever you felt like playing.
TinyInvaders is still available here: http://www.kupio.com/stuff/tiny/
Well, he didn’t say it… Typed it out… But he was right! You can download Tiny Invaders from that very link!
Could this be the smallest video game ever made? At 16 pixels square it could just be worthy of such an accolade!

Download Tiny Invaders from Kupio.com or from this very website!
Jonic Linley and b5media will accept no responsibility if this program doesn’t work or if it cleaves your Corsair DDR3 RAM in twain. It won’t happen though… Promise… Oh and while you’re over at Kupio take a look at the game where you control Michael Jackson wearing a jet-pack and you have to balance a baby under a blanket on a poll lest the paparazzi see that the baby has a beard.

Hi Jonic,
When I click on your “trackback” link, the page refreshes, but it doesn’t show me any trackback info. Also nothing comes up via trackback auto-detect. Is it possible you don’t have a template set up for the trackbacks?
Hi Tony… I’m not sure what CMS you’re using, but if it’s set up to ping URLs that you’re posting about, then pinging the permalink will handle the trackback for you… It works, and maybe a little too well, whenever I post about another entry on Re:Retro it always registers a trackback…
Give it a try, it should work :o)
Let me know if it doesn’t and I’ll do some poking around :o)
Ah, thanks. I think this was a usability issue — I thought the trackback link you have here was a link to the trackback URL. Some blogs make you click on “trackback” to find out what the URL is. I’ve sent a trackback ping to the permalink for this entry, hopefully it will go through.
I agree with you about the usability issue there… I’ll have a think about how I could remedy that… Maybe with a CSS tooltip or something… Or I could just have it print out the actual URL… I never have liked the “This entry was posted on” box on the single entries… I think I’ll probably make it a little more readable, like the information at the tops of the posts on Download Squad.
Thanks for making me think about this! Even if your trackback doesn’t work (which it should do), thanks for stopping by to talk to me about it :o)
