More WoW Commercials — Jean-Claude!

We love the celeb advertising, we really do. Nowhere else is there such a beautiful combination of brilliant marketing, video games, and celeb-gazing as there is in the new line of television commercials from Activision Blizzard depicting famous folks describing their very own adventures in Azeroth. Now, I don’t think anyone is naive enough to think that these stars have ever stepped foot into the virtual realm, but somehow it makes it funnier to imagine them wrestling with the unfamiliar terminology in preparation for shooting.

English-speakers aren’t the only ones to benefit from the campaign. The French can be dazzled by the mad mage skillz of Jean-Claude Van Damme and Spanish folks can revel in the humour of comedian Willy Toledo as he rambles on about his paladin.

For your viewing pleasure:

I agree with the Joystiq folks…WoW is infinitely hotter when discussed in non-English languages. Is there any wonder that Toledo gets the night elf chicks blood boiling?

Each time I see that Verne Troyer commercial, I wonder if it bothers him that they made him a gnome. I mean, yeah, ok.. but still. You’d think it might kind of annoy him.

If they wanted each character to look like the actor, why on earth did they make Shatner a Tauren? I don’t even want to know what kind of heated, late night discussions led up to that decision.
