Mortgage Crisis Fix Moving Fast
Congress sure does seem to move faster in an election year: they’ve got a fast-tracked fix for housing relief just about ready. Even more impressive, the $15 billion package is bipartisan.
I think plenty of business owners are going to be happy to see this deal: home owners get a small break on their taxes, but lenders and homebuilders are getting their own chunk of aid. Theoretically, it will be enough to keep various home-related industries rolling and keep jobs available with homebuilders. While many people feel that it may not be the best approach for fixing the mortgage crisis, the bill covering these various methods of reliefs will go into open debate next week. Odds are good for a fairly fast path to a vote.
