Home prices fell at the fastest rate in two decades last month as the Standard & Poor’s/Case-Shiller national home price index fell 14.1 percent in the first quarter to its lowest level since the index began in 1988.

Nineteen of the 20 metro areas reported declines, with 15 posting record lows. Six metro areas lost more than 20 percent.
