Women are climbing the ranks in the business world, and many of them wield a great deal of powerful. Fortune routinely puts out a list of the 50 most powerful women in business. This year, 13 of those 50 run Fortune 500 companies. That’s an increase over the two that ran Fortune when the list first premiered in 1998. Not all of the women on the list have the top spot, but all of them are high-ranking executives. (Indeed, some companies have more than one powerful woman in different executive positions.)
