Britain’s Andy Murray has defeated Spanish top-seeded player Rafael Nadal at the Capitala World Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi on January 3, 2009. Murray took the first set 6-4, Nadal took the second set 7-5. Murray ended the match by taking the last set 7-6.

Andy Murray came out on top to win the event. What a great way to start the new year!

Pete Sampras commented a few weeks ago about Murray’s potential to win a major. I think he just may be well on his way to a great 2009 tennis season.

I was there live and it was great. Only one point is that I cannot find any vidoes of the tournament

That’s great Yara! Wish I could have been there. I’ll check around for some videos and post them if I find any.
