Must Haves for an HDTV Setup

So you have or maybe are thinking of finally splurging for that HD setup you have just been drooling for, but just can’t think of what you all need? Well, here at High Def Delight, we have just the list for you!

1. HDTV
This one is pretty much a given, but you never know. Crazy folks out in the world…

2. HD Provider
Whether it be over-the-air, cable, or satellite, you can’t go wrong subscribing to an HD content provider. With DirecTV having the highest amount of HD channels, they are a good option, but for those who don’t want to pay, your local PBS affiliate has a lot of good nature programming.

3. HD Cables
While you don’t necessarily need Monster Cables (unless you’re an elitist), you should have either component, DVI, or HDMI cables to get the best video quality out of your HD components. Plus, why would you want to watch SD content on your HDTV when you have the choice of HD?

4. Blu-Ray Player
Since the wars have been over for quite some time, we now know what media to recommend. While the prices of Blu-Ray players have gone up a bit since there is no competition, it’s still the ultimate way to watch HD movies when you want.

And finally… Number five!!!

5. Good Friends
I mean seriously, what’s the point of having an HDTV if you aren’t going to share it with your friends? Watching the big game with your buddies has never been more fun. :)
