Must Read Bloggers: Top 5

I subscribe to about 1000 blogs.

That’s no misprint.

I subscribe to about 1000 blogs.

I read blogs about management, about leadership, about marketing, and about social media. I read blogs about customer service, and Milwaukee, and technology.

I also write 2 blogs: Slacker Manager and Make it Great! with Phil Gerbyshak. Some of the things I read fit nicely into my 2 blogs, so I can share their insights inside some of my articles.

Sometimes I can’t, or I don’t do it often enough.

There are some authors I never miss a post from, no matter how busy I am, no matter how many articles behind I get. I never ever let these feeds go and/or mark them as all read. In fact, I get some of them via e-mail to make sure I don’t miss them.

And I just realized I’ve never shared them with you before, at least not in this format.

What follows are my 5 must read bloggers. Some write more than 1 blog. All will change your thinking and your management.

5 Must Read Bloggers

Lisa Haneberg – Lisa is the author of many amazing books (High Impact Middle Management, 2 Weeks 2 a Breakthrough, Focus Like a Laser Beam, 10 Steps to Be a Successful Manager and Developing Great Managers are the ones I’ve read and enjoyed. I just got my copy of Hip and Sage this week). They’ve helped me be a better manager and a better person. She is also the author of the 2 Weeks 2 a Breakthrough blog, the Management Craft blog, and the Hip and Sage blog.

Michael Hyatt – Michael is the CEO of Thomas Nelson Inc. Some days he writes about running a marathon. Recently he wrote about a great way to recycle blog content. Sometimes he has productivity articles, and other days, he just offers a unique way of looking at the world as a leader and as a Christian. I am trying to be as transparent as he is here and on my other blog. He sets a high standard!

Dwayne Melancon – Dwayne is the author of the Genuine Curiosity blog. His blog is all about travel tips, technology tips, great book reviews, and other things that remind me to be more curious about my world and to take less things at face value. Dwayne doesn’t write every day, but when he does, he gets my full attention.

Miki Saxon – Miki has 2 blogs, Leadership Turn, and MAPping Company Success. She is a few years my senior, and she has a very different take on management and leadership than I do, in a VERY great way. She challenges my thinking with her writings and I learn a lot from the way she looks at things.

Bob Sutton – You might recognize Bob as the author of the book the No A$$hole Rule. It’s a really good book, especially in these crazy times. His blog is even better. Work Matters is what Bob calls his blog, and if you read his blog, you’ll agree, it does matter, and you can help it matter MORE to the people who work for you and the people who work with you.

I’m fortunate that I can call Lisa, Dwayne, and Miki my friends that I can call on, pick their brain, and ask them questions. I don’t know Bob and Michael (yet).  All of these folks are must-reads for me.
