My Beef Against Formal Business Attire

Business Suit Necessity

Why do employers force employees to wear business suits (or incredibly formal attire)?  It doesn’t make any sense to me.  We are all adults here, right?  No one would be dumb enough to bring something terribly offensive (and if they do, it is your fault for hiring an idiot).  Does it improve efficiency?  At what point do we sacrifice formality to be comfortable?  I would think business suits would hinder work.

Think about it – if people got to dress casually, you wouldn’t be afraid to eat something with sauce on it!  You could use a washing machine!  It’s cheap!

Understandably, some casual wear could form visual bias.  However, you could tell the employees not to wear shirts with text on them – simple as that.  Down with the business suit!
