My Goals for 2008

Personally I am not one for New Years Resolutions, in fact I kind of despise them. Instead of resolving to do anything I decided to list out some goals I would like to accomplish in the realm of the social web and how I personally use it. I am going to track this and check back once a month with some easily traceable numbers.
1) Get my MySpace base of people I can promote to over 100K- I am 1/5 of the way there with my MySpace profiles for my personal blog and if I run my half hour social networking plan each day this is an easily achievable goal.
2) Post at least one bulletin per profile per day promoting my posts so I can track the results- I have noticed that every time I have posted a bulletin on my secondary profiles I get a nice boost of traffic and subscribers, why I am not taking advantage of this everyday is beyond me.
3) Have over 1,000 fans on stumbleupon- I really put an effort in on stumbleupon awhile back and it paid off but I have slacked in my efforts on there. Like MySpace I am 1/5 of the way there and believe just a little effort can go a long way with this.
4) Pick six communities to become more active in- In the past I have preached about how people need to find communities within their niche and become active in them. Currently the only real community that I am active in is blogcatalog, I see the traffic from my activity there. Now it is time to branch out and become active in a few more communities, giving them each two months to see if they are worth being in or not.
5) Quit my job as a New Media Manager and start my own consulting firm- Whoops, how did that sneak in here?
I am sure this list of goals will change throughout the year as things evolve, but what are some of your goals for 2008?

Good question Arne,
Right now I am currently making a list and checking it twice… I will put a post up once I narrow it down. One will be video related since that is one of the focuses of my comedy blog this year is the production of Vlogs.

Hi Kevin, I also have a goal like you. But my goal is small because I just want to start to build a small network through Internet. However, I’m an introvert and I have no idea how to build a network.

I want to have a group of friends over the stumbleupon where each of us can exchange the site that we found interesting and etc.
I have as one of my business goals to get more involved in the Linkedin network.
