My Xbox 360 Official DOA

Tonight I took some additional time to troubleshoot my Xbox 360 three-red-lights-of-death a little bit more.
I unplugged everything, blew out the air vents as much as possible and wiped the connectors. Reconnected everything and tried to power-up again, but no luck.
I then called the Xbox Support line (1-800-4MY-XBOX) and they quickly had me tell them the status of the power pack light when the console is turned on and then do a fresh power-down and back up again. Nothing good. She advised I was experiencing a hardware failure and said she was opening a ticket and advised me they’d be sending me a shipping box so I could return my unit to them for repair.
The support rep said that I should expect the repair to take 3-5 weeks. That’s a real bummer considering there are some new games that my son had on his birthday and wish list. His birthday is a week from today and Christmas just around the corner.
I asked her if they could send me a replacement unit and she said I’d only receive a replacement if they were unable to repair my console.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the unexpected will happen and somehow I’ll get a replacement unit before this time next week. Not sure how that will happen though since I won’t even get the shipping box to me until probably Tuesday at the earliest.

i’m doing a story on people who are still having this problem. would you be willing to be interviewed? It would only take a few minutes. thanks.
Poor son… This really isn’t fair what Microsoft is doing to everyone with these broken consoles!
