MySpace Blocks Photobucket Videos

In its continuing effort to become an information silo at war with its own customers, MySpace has blocked Photobucket videos from profiles and comments.
No wonder The Geek’s Guide to Good and Evil lists MySpace as evil. While messed-up MySpace profiles annoy us all, users should have the right to mess up their own profiles as they please. That’s why it was called MySpace. That’s clearly a misnomer now; it’s becoming FoxSpace.
Fortunately, Photobucket will not be pulled into MySpace’s suicide spiral. Unlike last year, they’ve learned to become both a remote host and a sticky destination.
MySpace is a rotting walled garden, offering a commodified feature in a transient space. You should hedge against its poison by building your own independent Web presence.
