MySpace Following Footsteps of Facebook

facebook vs myspaceIt seems like gaming, most specifically casual gaming, is a great come on to social networking addicts.  It gives them a reason to hang around the site (after they’re done browsing on gazillions of photos and stalking exes) and makes them come back for more.

Some say that Facebook’s viral success came from gaming, that’s why we see other SNS’ following suit.

Late last year, MySpace announced that they’re partnering with Oberon Media to launch a gaming network as reported by GameShout.  They’re also opening up developer opportunities by letting them upload their work on the social site and share it with their current 200 million members.  Something that has been done with their singers, actors and other artists after assigning a channel for them.

So who wins the SNS war?  We’ll have to wait a couple more years to find out.
