NASA Needs a New Slogan

September 10, 2007 by Susan Gunelius

nasa.jpgIn early August, Wired.com reported that NASA is looking for a new slogan.  Their first choice (which they’ve since relegated to the scrap pile) was, “NASA explores for answers that power our future.”

What do you think?  Don’t like it?  That’s what the folks at Wired.com think, so they’ve put together a cool contest asking readers to submit new slogans for NASA then vote for the winner.  There is even a prize.  The author of the winning slogan will get a DVD of the space movie of his or her choice.

Here are a few interesting slogans (or plain funny slogans) that people have submitted so far:

  • NASA: Because one does not simply walk into space.
  • NASA: Actually, this is rocket science.
  • NASA: Because intelligent life is so hard to find these days.
  • NASA: Take that gravity!
  • NASA: No challenge too great. No journey too far.

What do you think?  Can you come up with the winning slogan?  You can enter or vote here.  Good luck!
