American gymnast, Nastia Liukin, looked really beautiful on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. It was such a change from having her hair pulled back so severely all the time. She really carried herself well. Watch it here:
Jay asked her if it was overwhelming to go from Texas to the Olympics and she responded by saying it was an amazing experience and that “winning the gold just topped that.” He also asked about being robbed on the uneven bars. Nastia explained that she and a Chinese gymnast tied and then went into the technical explanation of the tie-breaker. Norm McDonald, who was sitting next to her said it sound like “a lot of Commie gobbledeegook” (I wonder who she felt about that considering the fact that she’s Russian!).
She also implied that she didn’t believe the Chinese gymnasts met the age requirements and said that she think she would have done well had she been allowed to compete when she was fourteen but that, in her country, they follow the rules. Feisty!
Nastia is amazing. This interview was great. I love how she wasn’t afraid to just say, i dont know how they do it, but in America we follow the rules. I cheered out loud for that one. oh yeah,, she is absolutely gorgeous.
How come Norm MacDonald was on last night though? He isn’t doing much of late.
