NBC Kills Own YouTube Channel

Despite my enjoyment of Conan O’Brien, I unsubscribed from NBC’s YouTube channel when I found out their new CEO was a moron. Now they’ve deleted their entire YouTube channel, presumably to take the videos into their wannabe-hip content graveyard Hulu. Yes, even the massive YouTube-propelled success of Dick in a Box didn’t get through to those boneheads.
This isn’t the first time NBC’s shot itself in the foot by killing its online video distribution channels. You’ll recall that last month, NBC was kicked out of the iTunes playground for being a greedy bully.
Video producers of all sizes, from Happy Slip to CBS, are working hard to get themselves into every possible online video site. NBC, on the other hand, goes off to die in its walled-garden dreamland with Fox.
Oh well. At least the peacock will die deluded and happy. No Heroes in this story, folks — just a bunch of Scrubs cutting off their Dick in a Box.
