Nerfed PlayStaion 3 for Europe

Well, that settles it: No PS3 for me. Sony has recently announced that the PS3 released in Europe will lack the Emotion Engine (that nifty chip that makes the PS2 so lovely) which means crappier backwards compatibility for European consoles.

It’s the Diet Coke of PS3s…

I can see that Sony is trying to cut down prices, but that’s just lame. At least give consumers the option.

All that said, Sony is quick to mention that over 1,000 PS2 titles will be playable on the PS3, though no one really knows what these titles might be. The full list is coming out on March 23rd right along with the PS3 launch.

Thanks for giving us the shaft, Sony.
