The official website for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has launched and, as usual, Warner Bros. has created an awesome resource (although the navigation of the site leaves a lot to be desired).

Harry Potter fans will have access to videos (three trailers!), information about the film, a photo gallery (there are a LOT of great pictures) and downloads (posters, wallpapers and buddy icons).

Harry Potter site

There is also a link to the website of the previous movie, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, for those that need a quick refresher.  I think that was the best movie in the series so far so Half-Blood Prince is really going to have to bring it!

If you remember, Harry and Dumbledore tried to warn the wizarding world that Lord Voldemort had returned but the Ministry of Magic repeatedly denied their claims and even launched a smear campaign to make Harry and Dumbledore look like liars.  With Hogwarts’ students left defenseless, Harry organizes Dumbledore’s Army which leads to a final showdown with Voldemort (the effects were amazing!).  The existence of a prophecy is revealed which leads us to the events in Half-Blood Prince.

This new movie, follows Harry through his sixth year at Hogwarts as he delves into the mysterious and ugly past of Lord Voldemort while still navigating his way through adolescence.  Of course, we will find out who the “half-blood prince” truly is.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince hits theaters on July 15, 2009.
