New Heads Up Poker Video

There’s a new PokerSavvy training video live up through the poker school at CardPlayer. Free to watch. This one is Dani Stern talking about heads up poker, playing two $1/$2 no limit tables at once. It makes me want to be able to watch more of the videos.

His thoughts on playing aggressively from the button are obviously the general trend, though I often prefer to play slower preflop and feel the hands out as they come if my opponent will allow that. Faster heads up is a more popular way to play but also allows for a great degree of variance, at least for me.

It’s interesting to watch, regardless. I think I could watch ‘good’ players play most all day long for some reason.

Check out the video here.

I’ve been mulling over paying that stupid 25 bucks a month specifically because of Dani Stern. I really like his style of online play and thought process.

I’ll let you know if I subscribe.

In my opinion these videos are worthless, you can’t learn how to play poker by watching someone else ’s game.

that’s kind of like saying you can’t learn to write by reading.

sure, you won’t learn by watching and NOT playing, but seeing how other professionals act in similar situations is definitely a learning experience.

I’m with Blake on this one. I really don’t understand why some one would limit their growth because they think it is “silly” to learn from other people’s play.

Obviously, if you have a remedial grasp of the game then you won’t understand the plays and strategies being implemented by more advanced players.
