New Tomb Raider Films Set In Motion

Tomb Raider sales are not all that they could be, and Eidos seems to be struggling with how to bring Lara Croft back to the forefront of gamers’ minds. Not long ago, I mentioned that Eidos was going to make Lara a bit more “female friendly” in the hopes of tapping that usually-ignored resource known as the female gamer population. (Oh hai!)

Well, now that Eidos got its film rights back for Tomb Raider, it looks like we’ll be seeing rumblings in the franchise. This time, without Angelina Jolie, and with a brand-spanking new actress, director and writer. None of which have been hired yet. But Warner Brothers will be at the helm of this supposed “reboot” of the system.

Will this aid in Eidos’ mission to see Tomb Raider regain its lost popularity? Or is it just another way for the franchise to flop?
