EA Games has released the trailer for the upcoming game, Dante’s Inferno. There are not many details available for it since the release is still a while from now (January 30, 2010) but I do know that the plot is loosely based on Dante Aligheri’s classic poem, Divine Comedy.
Gamers will play as Dante, a man who is on a quest to save his beloved Beatrice’ soul the evil Lucifer. Fortunately, he has gleaned a lot of experience fighting in the Crusades because he is definitely going to need any and all battle skills he possesses. During his journey, he must navigate his way through the 9 Circles of Hell and you can only imagine what he will encounter. I find it interesting that, in addition to the monsters that you might expect, Dante must also face his own personal demons (including some war crimes) as well as the sins of his family.
A lot of these third-person action-adventure games are lacking in creative plots but this truly sounds interesting. I find myself wondering what Dante will face as he tries to save Beatrice (and I’m also curious about what Lucifer will look like).
