New Video: U2 “Magnificent”

U2 has released the video for their new single “Magnificent” which hit the airwaves on May 4, 2009. It’s the second track from No Line on the Horizon, their twelfth studio 
album (and the first since they released How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb back in 2004 which is the longest amount of time the band has gone between albums).
The album is dedicated to Rob Partridge, who signed the band’s first record deal in 1979 and died of cancer in late 2008.
“Magnificent” has a different sound from many of the U2 songs that I know and love but, then again, after such a lengthy absence, I’m sure the band has changed a little. The sound actually reminds me of their fellow British band, Keane (although Keane seems to have lost some of their identity judging from their most recent album Perfect Symmetry).
The video is simple, as you would expect from U2, but sometimes less is more.
