New Year’s Resolutions

We don’t get too hung up on New Year’s Resolutions.
Why? Well, we don’t want to be like those soon-to-be dropouts at the gym who take our slot in spinning class and create treadmill traffic jams for the first three weeks of January. You know, the kind of people who harbor big “I’m joining the gym and going everyday” plans, spawned by holiday overeating and a few too many trips to the champagne fountain on NYE.
Because we don’t aspire to be like them, we’ve set 2008 goals well within our reach, such as the following:
1. To keep eating chocolate and pastry regularly, and then going to the gym daily to work it off. This is OK because we aren’t fitness lollygaggers. We. Are. Hard. Core. (Ooh, I was thisclose to typing that last part with a straight face!)
2. To keep being a cocky sports fan with a bias, evident to the careful observer, in favor of New England teams.
3. To increase readership. We’ll need some help on this one but we know you heart this bloggerette or else you wouldn’t be reading this! Digg, Stumble Upon, and Bark Us Up, baby, and we’ll all be one big Gossip on Sports family.
4. To branch out into other sports on this blog. Hockey, soccer, and cricket, where’s the dish when we need it? We’ll make an effort to make fun of/find the silliness in/make witty observations about the goings-on in other sports. That is, until baseball season, during which we’ll blog constantly about the Red Sox. Just kidding! Not really . . .
5. To incorporate supermodels, Brazilian and otherwise, into our blog posts as often as possible. After all, we had a pretty good run with that!
So there you have our own brand of wishful thinking set in 2008. Perhaps you noticed that we didn’t resolve to be nicer. As we noted before the holidays, it’s unnecessary because we’re in tight with Santa’s elves. Besides, this blog would be booooring if we ventured into good girl territory.
Pardon us while we skip to the gym to do battle with the “What’s an elliptical?” and “Ooh, I did four sit-ups and my abs hurt” newbies.
