New Years Revolution Preview
Tonight is the WWE New Years Revolution PPV and here is a preview of the matches set to go down tonight.
John Cena and Umaga will duke it out in what can be considered the main event. The championship bout will pit Umaga’s unbeaten streak in the WWE against Cena and his title. The match has been set for weeks and has been getting progressively hyped. Prediction: Look for Umaga’s streak to end and Cena to retain.
The ’secondary main event’ as I have come to call it will be D-Generation X against current Tag Team Champions Rated-RKO. Rated-RKO topped DX back at Cyber Sunday when fans voted Eric Bischoff to be the special referee. Biscoff helped the tah team steal a win from fan favorites DX. Prediction: Going out on a limb here but DX will win and become Tag Team Champs for the first time since reforming in 2006.
Johnny Nitro and Jeff Hardy will go head to head yet again for the Intercontinetal Championship in a steel cage match. In what is perhaps the most back and forth trading of the belt in quite a while and the rivalry has been going on for some time now. Prediction: Hard to call this one because the belt has been going back and forth so much but look for Hardy to retain and a new fued to start in the next weeks.
Mickie James just won her title back at Survivor Series from a retiring Lita but she will put it on the line tonight against Victoria. Prediction: As much as I want to say Victoria will win the title because I am sick of the Mickie James Champion storyline, James will most likely retain in tonight’s match.
In one of just two non-title matches Ric Flair will take on Kenny Dykstra of Spirit Squad fame. Now this whole storyline is actually entangled with the DX and Rated-RKO feud. Rated-RKO beat up Flair because he was friends with DX while Dykstra was looking to join Rated-RKO which sparked their pseudo-rivalry. Prediction: Flair’s status as a fan favorite and Dykstra’s lack of support should get Flair the win in this one.
Carlito and Chris Masters will also go head to head in singles action. Prediction: I just can’t root against Carlito and his hair. Look for Carlito to win unless Masters gets Carlito in his signature Master Lock then all bets are off.
Check back late tonight for the results.
