Olympics Day 1 - Rowing

The defending Gold Medalists in the women’s double sculling event, and by most estimations one of the best sculling teams in the world, are a pair of 28-year-old twins from New Zealand–Caroline and Georgina Evers-Swindell. The pair were the 2002 and 2003 rowing World Championships as well as the 2004 Olympic medalists, but finished second to China’s Li Qin and Tian Liang in the 2007 World Championship.

The sisters Evers-Swindell easily finished first in their qualifying heat in Beijing on Saturday.
