New Zelda DS Game sure to be a hit…
I know I don’t talk about other game genres other than adventure games too much, but there are some genres I love almost as much as I love adventure. Oh, alright. I guess you got me. The only other genre I like as much as adventure is action-adventure. Hah, I tricked you didn’t I! I’m still talking about adventure gaming in one way or another!
Well, the new Zelda game for the Nintendo DS – The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass is just the type of game I want to play. The new game takes place right after The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, but no worries if you haven’t played it – the game recaps the last game in this series during the beginning introductions.
There are lots of other kick ass things about this new Zelda game. The first cool thing that you might notice is that you get to use your stylus to kick some monster ass. By using your stylus, you can swing around your sword and plan a path for your boomerang to take. Then let’s consider that the dungeons, my most hated places in any game I might play with dungeons, will only take you 30 minutes or less to get through. Now, I can handle a 30 minute dungeon. Any longer, and you’re really pushing it. Another great thing about the game is that when you pull up the map, you can make notes directly on the map with your stylus. This way you never get lost while you’re wandering around aimlessly. I hate getting lost. And then there’s the actual playing. According to the trailer I’ve posted below, nothing in this game has an epic quest, so if you only have time to play for an hour, you can finish up a quick quest and be on your way to the movies. And you can play multiplayer. There is one part of the game where Link has to make his way through a dungeon, while avoiding bad beasties. So, while you get to play the good guy, Link, your friends can play the bad guys that are out to stop your questing through the dungeons. Let us not forget to mention the art style. Link and his comrades just look goofy and comic-y. I love comics. Oh, and it’s kind of piratey, too. I also like pirates.
I think I likes everything about this game. Ahhhh, Zelda. You have been good to us.
Now after all my babbling, you can take a look at the wide-eyed trailer:
See what I mean by wide eye? Link has HUGE EYES. I wonder if he can see better like that, or something.
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass is out now at your favorite game stores everywhere. You can pick up this epic adventure for the pretty decent price of $34.99.
