Bobby Petrino and the Atlanta Falcons part ways. Michael Vick’s progress, or lack thereof, is assumed to be the main impetus for Petrino’s firing. The Falcons’ search for a successor will most likely hinder on the suitors plans for implementing the potential of the 30-year-old quarterback and the development of the 2-year-old army of Vick clones. Petrino was 23-25 in his three years and lost his only playoff appearance. He is rumored to return to the college ranks, most likely returning to the college football powerhouse Big East conference.
