…for President Bush and Vice President Cheney when they fill out their income tax returns.

According to CNN, President Bush and Vice President Richard Cheney have released their income tax information for 2007.

President and Mrs. Bush earned a total of $719,000 in 2007, which includes wages, a book advance for Mrs Bush and trust/investment earnings. Of that amount, they donated $165,000 to various charities.

President Bush returns $221,635 into the Treasury coffers this year. That’s about half of his annual salary.

VP Cheney, on the other hand, draws an annual salary of $212,208 – however he paid some $602,651 in taxes for 2007 (as they, collectively, earned over $2.5M in 2007).

  1. Bob in VA says:

He didn’t earn a dime. He was paid $719,000. That’s before the kickbacks from his oil peddling pals in Iraq, Dubai, and our very best friends in Saudi Arabia pay into his “retirement bonus incentive plan.” Wonder how much of a kickback he’s seeing for the no-bid contracts to Halliburton, Bechtel, or the mercs in Blackwater?
Perhaps the first President that will never write memoirs of his time in the White House- because nobody believes this vacuous sub-moron could write a grocery list.
Another tell-tale sign of the dangerous practice of inbreeding among America’s elite aristocrats: after a few generations, their offspring become mindless sociopaths.
