NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.

You are about to experience Monday Night football as only Peyton Manning can deliver as the Colts destroyed the Jags 29 – 7.
Shhhhhh!

He is about to start. You must be quiet.

Peyton Manning steps up to the podium. The crowd of dignitaries, luminaries, celebrities, and just plain beautiful people, including some wearing football helmets with beer cans attached, go silent.

[to that Beethoven song] Hut Hut HutHut…Peyton hands off to Joseph Addai

Hut Hut HutHut…Peyton throws to Marvin Harrison

Hut Hut…Addai
Hut Hut… Addai

Peyton looks over to the Tympani section for their solo.
Boom, Boom Boom, Boom Boom, Boom… Peyton has 98 wins in 150 games, behind only Joe Montana with 108 and Terry Bradshaw with 102, and tied with former Colt Johnny Unitas, and one ahead of Brett Favre.

There are quiet claps coming from the crowd. No outright applause as that would be rude as if you did not expect Peyton to pull this off.

Quickly to Kenton Keith in the violin section. dwah da da dwah… Keith for a rushing touchdown.

Peyton boldly strokes the air with his baton… swoosh, swoosh… Peyton for a 1 yard TD.

And so it went on into the night. Beautiful music, expertly directed.

David Garrard of the Jags injured his ankle with a sprain and maybe hurt his knee. Out of the game he went.

Bob Sanders of the Colts led a ferocious defensive effort against a Jacksonville team that steamrolled Indy last year and woke them up.

Taylor and Jones-Drew spearheaded last year’s 44-17 rout in Jacksonville. The Jaguars ran for a franchise-record 375 yards — a defensive meltdown that proved to be a turning point for Indy. The team fixed its run defense down the stretch and then won it all.

Jacksonville tried to catch the Colts off guard from the start Monday night, calling on Garrard to throw early and often. It backfired. Garrard was knocked out of the game in the second quarter and Jacksonville’s lackluster receivers dropped several balls. source

Peyton Manning and the Colts have now won 6 games in a row for the 3rd straight seasons setting up the upcoming epic duel with undefeated New England.

Reggie Wayne had 9 grabs for 131 yards.
Joseph Addai had 16 rushes for 85 yards.
And Peyton? Well, Peyton had a calm 23 of 37 for 289 yards and 1 td passing and 1 td rushing with 1 interception.

The Jags have a long ways to go to catch Indy napping again.

Maybe it is all too easy for Peyton.

Manning’s 35-yard TD pass to Dallas Clark made it 29-7 with 3:58 to play. By then, the stands at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium were mostly empty and the Jaguars had pretty much conceded the game.

Peyton Manning is winning and you were not sure the Colts would be as good this year were you.

But you should have guessed, Peyton is Peyton.

NFL Football Fan Question Peyton threw his 11th touchdown pass tied with Matt Hasselbeck for 7th in the league. Tom Brady has 27. Can the Colts beat NE?
