NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.

After one week of football we have all become experts on the NFL season. So just what do we know? Let’s take a quick look around the league.

Ben Roethlisberger nfl.comHey, didn’t we all jump up after our emergencey appendectomies and play football 15 days later? Ok, maybe your gallivanting author did not do that, but if there was an emergency appendectomy, then surely after 15 days… Anyway, that is what Ben Roethlisberger is attempting, because he wants to play this Sunday. The man heals fast!

Aaron from the Technosailor will be happy to here that Steve McNair still has the leadership to make Baltimore a special team.

Could it be that Carolina with Delhomme at QB and no Steve Smith is not quite ready to walk away with the Ring? Maybe Keyshawn Johnson is not quite up to the task of taking his place.

NFL Football Billy Volek news Billy has his suitcase packed. The Billy Volek sweepstakes has begun with San Diego expressing first interest. Where are my Lions?

Are we ready to accept the fact that San Diego is a better than good team even with Phillip Rivers at Quarterback? Hmm, maybe not yet.

NFL Football Big Daddy News Dan ‘Big Daddy’ Wilkinson is being sued for 32 Mill for breaching a lease to build a restaurant. Since he is in court, he is not at practice.

LJ JerseyDo we automatically assume Larry Johnson of the Kansas City Chiefs becomes a second rate running back after KC lost their tackles and quarterback? No, it may be tougher, but it is still Larry. Denver would just as soon Larry was gone and the other three were there.

Did we realize how good Drew Brees and Reggie Bush would be a deadly combination? And to think, that Reggie is just getting started. Throw in a solid defense and Deuce McAllister at running back. Wait a minute, they have another outstanding rookie in draft sleeper Marques Colston.

Who would have believed that Carson Palmer and Duante Culpepper would come back and Ben Roethlisberger would not? Well, at least not yet.

Did we have any idea that Eli vs. Peyton would be a really good game with two fantastic quarterbacks showing their stuff? The game was way over hyped, or so we thought until it actually was played. The game was great fun to watch.

How is it possible that St. Louis made Kurt Warner look good and that Matt Leinart might steal his job in his rookie season?

Now your intrepid author is positive that you knew Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers would open the season with a goose egg.

Clinton Portis is struggling to come back for Washington this Sunday. In an always entertaining rivalry with Dallas, one of these teams is going to be 0 and 2. Who would have thought that? Of course, you knew, didn’t ya?

Oh, we know so much more, but how about we save some for later?
