NFL Football – Trouble brewing in Washington

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
The Washington Redskins announced Mark Brunel will start Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. This, in spite of a cut requiring stitches on his throwing elbow. (who knew you could throw with an elbow?)
So where is the problem? The starting QB is back. Things look good. Wait a minute, there is more to this isn’t there.
You see, Washington already had 2 losses and if they lose to Jacksonville, it would be 3. (just thought you needed a little help with the math). As if that would not be bad enough, their next 3 games are At NY Giants, Home against Tennessee, and Away with Indianapolis. The away games with the Giants and Colts are possible division losses. Assuming they win against the Titans, it would be 5 losses with 3 losses in the division going into their bye week.
NFL Football Mark Brunell Factoid Oddly enough Mark played for Jacksonville early in his career.
Jags are a cohesive unit
You see it now, don’t you. 5 losses and looking up at the Giants, Colts, and Cowboys would be a hopeless situation. This Jacksonville game is very very important if the Redskins want any hope in getting into the playoffs. Big problem there is that this is a very good Jacksonville team. We saw them play on Monday night. Jack Del Rio has them playing as one big cohesive unit. They are tough, just like he played tough.
Even though the schedule lightens up a bit after the bye week it may be too late to pick up enough momentum for a run to the playoffs.
Once on TV, they showed the quarterback challenge. This was several years ago. Mark stood up and threw as hard as he could throw and the ball went 65 yards and out of bounds. After Mark, John Elway threw the ball around 80 yards on a rope. Ok, maybe not a fair challenge, Elway did have a bazooka launcher instead of an arm, but the point is that Mark Brunell is not good enough to rescue this Washington team. Now in all fairness, Brunell does have 3 Pro Bowls, but the last one was in 2000.
Brunnel starting at quarterback may not be enough. Squibster is taking the Jags in this one.
NFL Football Fan Question Ok, Skins or Jags?
