Nike: How the Pros Just Do It

The wonderful people at Nike let me in on a little Euro campaign they are doing, and I thought I’d let you guys in on it, too.

Nike says of the Nike Here I Am campaign:

Nike is launching a series of animated films featuring 5 young female athletes, showing their journey towards mental strength gained through sports.   They’re all about passion and strength, the vitality it takes to take part in sports and how women who have sport in their lives live life to the full.”

The first movie: Tennis Champ Maria Sharipova

I like the fact that when Nike says they’re making something for women, they seem to actually do it. (E.g. I’m guessing that a majority of men would find an ad featuring Maria Sharapova without tons of sexy, sweaty pics of her gorgeous athletic self crazy. I found it very cool that this pulled it off WELL.)

So cool – thanks for the inspiration Kelly!

That’s one thing I really love about Nike – they are inspiring! As I watch my little girl growing up, and playing all the sports she loves (she’s 11) – I’m reminded that I don’t want to see external limits set on her. I want her to accomplish whatever it is she really desires. And this embodies that sentiment – thank you!
