Nintendo Breaks Their Own Record Profits

In these troubled times, with a failing economy and businesses folding left and right, one company is sitting pretty in the shade. This company is Nintendo. Nintendo seems to have swallowed down a big flask of immunity to the whole economic nightmare we’re in. During the fiscal year ending March 31, our dear friends at Nintendo saw a 9.9% sales increase and a 14% operating profits increase.

The Wii hit 26 million units sold, taking the little console that could to the staggering 50 million mark. And let’s not forget the DS. The Nintendo DS sold 31 million, dropping it over the edge of 100 million.

And where there’s consoles there’s games. Software sales were also on the rise: 204 million for the Wii, 197 million for the DS.

Congrats, Nintendo.
