Nintendo DS Games Available for Download through Wii

January 2, 2008 by Ingrid Diaz

ImageNintendo DS games will soon be made available for download through the Nintendo Wii, according to Nintendo of America president, Reggie Fils-Aime.

Demos as well as full games will presumably be made available through the Wii Shop though specific details haven’t yet been released.

Does that point to a future storage device for the Nintendo DS? No way to know or guess. But it sure would be nice to hold more than one demo in the DS memory.

Either way, look for this new functionality to hit your Wii sometime in the near future.

Hey Ingrid, does the Wii have some sort of USB drive? We can always homebrew, so the DS games can be transferred via card readers.

Or maybe, we can buy games via the Wii Shop, then Nintendo would just ship the games straight into our doorstep. That’s a bit lame though.

It has two USB ports as well as an SD card slot. :)
