Nintendo DS Lite: Now Available

This weekend saw thousands of Nintendo fans crowding the Nintendo World store in New York City just to be the first to get their hands on the new DS Lite. It actually paid off to be first, since the first 100 people to purchase the mini-console received a free carrying case and a copy of Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes A Day.
Enthusiasm ran high at the kick-off event, and some particularly colorful fans showed up dressed as their favorite Nintendo characters.
Last year, I would’ve been an hour away from NY and definitely in attendance at Nintendo’s “Season of Lite” kick-off party. Alas, this year, I was somewhere in the wilds of Portugal. But I was dressed as Luigi all the same.
Well, not really.
For those of you who like facts and figures, here’s a little bit of info on the Nintendo DS Lite:
- Cost: $129.99
- Size: 2/3 of the original DS
- Weight: 20% lighter than the original DS
- Battery: Extended power
- Screen: Four levels of brightness adjustment
- Color: White
Anyone get the DS Lite yet? Impressions?
